2011 FLASH Annual Meeting Ends on a High Note

The 2011 FLASH Annual Meeting has officially ended, but our day began with an inspiring morning key address by Dr. Elizabeth Hausler, Founder of Build Change.

Later, we were all brought up to speed on the latest in mitigation policy, legislation and programs originating from a variety of government levels, and how they are impacting the movement.

Our second keynote speaker was none other than Bill Read, Director of the National Hurricane Center, who provided us a look back on hurricane activity so far this year with a special focus on Hurricane Irene.

Our luncheon speaker was The Weather Channel’s Rick Knabb, who gave us the inside scoop at what goes on beyond the scenes and the country’s #1 TV resource for weather.

Our thanks to all who attended, and special thanks to our 2011 FLASH Annual Meeting title sponsor, RenaissanceRe Risk Sciences Foundation Inc., and our meeting sponsors BASF, Kohler Power Systems, State Farm, International Code Council (ICC), Environments in Living, and PGT.  Also, thanks to Storm & Security Protection magazine for producing our Innovations in Product Technologies Showcase, and its sponsor, the International Hurricane Protection Association (IHPA).
